[HKUST FINA] Mentorship Program 2022

この度弊社取締役の一人であるPatrick Wongが香港科技大学（HKUST）の金融学部の1年生を主な対象としたメンタープログラムに、メンターとして参加いたしました。 当プログラムは金融関連の職業・業界の経験者がメンターとなり、各学生3名のグループ 1つにつき、異なる職種・業種のメンターが2名配属され、メンターが過去や現在のキャリアパスにおける業界の知識や経験を共有し、学生たちはそこから学び、将来の教育やキャリア形成のためのヒントを得ることを目的としています。 もちろん、青葉グループとしても学生たちから様々な意見を交えることで得るものがたくさんあるとも言えます。

メンターと学生たちが緊張することなくリラックスしてお互いを知り、理解するために当イベントでは初めて”お茶会”が導入され、そしてさらに より理解するためのディスカッションを行うために夕食会も行われました。 当プログラムは、夕食会で終了とはなりましたが、今後も学生たちと長期的な関係を築くために、他の機会を設けていければと思います。

It is a mentorship programme mainly for the Year 1’s students from the finance faculty of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Experienced persons from finance-related professions or industries shall act as the mentors, and students are assigned to the mentors as mentees under one group. Under each group, there will be two mentors from different professions or industries and three mentees. The purposes are for the mentors to share their industry knowledge and experience during their past and current career paths, and for the mentees to learn and gain insights from these for their future educational and career development. Of course, it is a two-way communication and sharing.

The tea gathering was the first event for both mentors and mentees to know and understand each other for ice-breaking purpose. The high table dinner was the one to have further discussion with each other for deeper understanding and sharing. The high table dinner was the final event of this programme but both mentors and mentees may meet further at other occasions to extend to a long-term relationship among them.
